Hello, my name is Dr Stuart Stevenson, and I am an experienced Executive Coach, Organisational Consultant, Psychoanalyst, Forensic Psychotherapist, and Group Analyst.
With two decades of experience in both private practice and the National Health Service, I endeavour to respond to new inquiries promptly, usually within a 24-hour timeframe, and can typically provide an appointment within a week. I specialise in addressing issues related to depression, anxiety, challenging thoughts, and emotions, and personal or familial matters. My areas of expertise encompass sexual dysfunction, offending behaviours, sexually harmful behaviours, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, substance misuse, eating disorders, and various forms of addiction. My psychotherapy specialties include support for depression, anxiety, substance misuse, sexual and relationship difficulties, issues related to alcohol and drugs, eating disorders, and addictions, as well as the consequences of trauma and abuse. I have specialised skills in working with LGBTQ+ communities and communities of colour.
In addition to my private practice with individuals and groups, I work as an organisational consultant. I offer clinical supervision and consulting services to organisations and professionals. As an experienced executive coach and organisational consultant, I offer comprehensive support to organisations concerning team dynamics, conflict resolution, change management, and transformation, particularly within the framework of the global international market, with the aim of improving performance and outcomes. By emphasising role analysis, I engage in scenarios that are significantly relevant to contemporary and complex role and work environments.
Executive coaching has the power to shape and transform lives and careers, opening up new pathways and unlocking individual potential. I provide one-on-one, online, or collaborative coaching with a focus on flexibility and adaptive motivation. Drawing from my extensive career and qualifications, I take a human-centric approach designed to put individuals at ease. Driven by a clear purpose, I strive to inspire and create opportunities for growth.
Initiating psychotherapy or a coaching cycle represents a significant challenge. During the initial consultation, I am available to assist you in determining whether this approach is suitable for you. In my practice, I recognise the inherent strengths that have enabled individuals to arrive at a pivotal juncture in their lives where psychotherapy and coaching can be effectively utilised. These strengths are identified and further developed throughout our collaborative work as part of the psychotherapeutic and coaching process. The progression of this cycle is continuously reviewed.
I have undergone training at the Tavistock Clinic, the Institute of Group Analysis, and the Guild of Psychotherapists. My specialities include addressing complex team and role dynamics. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision and consultancy services to organizations and professionals operating across diverse sectors.
I am based accessibly to Islington/Holloway/Archway/Highgate/Hackney/Stoke Newington/Finsbury Park/Haringey. I currently work with individuals and groups face-to-face and online via Zoom.
I have an established face-to-face psychotherapy group that meets on Monday evenings at 7.15 pm and an online group at 8 am Thursday mornings.
